Pictures - Rallies 2011
The final event for MB90 in 2011 was the London Bus Museum (formally Cobham) Best of London Buses event on 23rd October. MB90 is seen paused at Chobham Village Hall on her feeder journey from Basingstoke in the morning.
MB90 spent part of the day in service, and part on display. She is seen on display on part of the old start/finish straight of the Brooklands racetrack.
And at the end of what was a very good day, MB90 is seen outside one of the old aircraft hangers at Brooklands, with blinds appropriately set to Weybridge BAC Works on route 462, which in her time as a Leatherhead bus she would probably have run at some point.
The Amersham Running Day on 2nd October was only MB90's 4th rally of the year due to mechanical issues. While she has been off the road a few tasks were undertaken on her, including the fitment of the London Transport roundel on the front, improving her appearance externally. She is seen here at Berkhamsted Stn
on route 353 which involved some very steep hills, but on the whole she performed well during the day. The next issue to deal with is the steering, which became harder and harder to turn right during the day.

MB90 at Beaconsfield on a very hot day for the Uxbridge Running Day on 26th June. She ran on route 305 again, on which she was a regular in her service days. However, in the hot weather she overheated numerous times, and used several gallons of water!, resulting in a couple of trips being missed. A replacement radiator is being rebuilt for her at the moment, and she won't go out until that is fitted.
MB90 visited the Andover Running Day on 5th June, which was an enjoyable day, despite the rain later on. She performed well on the day, apart from on the journey to Andover in the morning on a particularly rough piece of road, one of the air pipes to the gearbox sheared off resulting in a loss of 3rd gear. This was fixed when we got to Andover and she ran a couple of trips out on route 277 to Stockbridge, where she is seen above.
MB90 made her first visit to a very enjoyable Slough and Windsor Running Day on 22nd May, and she is seen at Langely Village with RML2440.
