Pictures - Rallies 2009
This page shows pictures of MB90 at all events she attended in 2009. The first rally, the Kingston RF event was her first rally in our ownership as well as her first public appearance for 14 years.
MB90 attended the Kingston RF event on 22nd March 2009, where she ran the route 416 to one of her old garages, Leatherhead. She successfully completed 2 round trips in the morning before traffic delays meant that the 3rd was not possible, but in the afternoon she only managed 1 (very slow!) round trip due to suffering from fuel starvation problems. Many thanks to Paul Morris and Simon Kreisler for their help in getting her going again later in the afternoon.
MB90 is seen here outside the entrance to the former Leatherhead Garage.
Seen here during a break at Sandown Park Racecourse.
MB90 seen in the company of SMS369 at Sandown Park.
MB90 attended the Sevenoaks Running Day on 12th July and she is seen here at the terminus of the very narrow route 421 at Heverham.
MB90 seen in Sevenoaks Bus Station during a break between duties - 12th July 09.
As well as the 421, MB90 worked the 454 to Tonbridge Station. This route gave her a good testing out as it contained some very steep hills!
MB90 made an unscheduled appearance in place of RM1033 at the Alton Rally on 19th July. She is seen here at Basingstoke Station being passed by RT935, also on its way to Alton.
MB90 seen in Anstey Park during the Alton Rally on 19th July.
On 16th August, MB90 returned to another of her old haunts, Hemel Hempstead. She ran a round trip on the 307 to Harpenden, and 2 routnd trips on the 322 to Watford junction, where she is seen in this photo.
MB90 seen here in Redbourn on the return trip on the 307 during the Hemel Hempstead running day - 16th August.
MB90 seen disguised as a Greenline Bus in Hemel Hempstead Bus Station before setting off at the end of the day. She performed faultlessly all day, apart from as we were parking her up for the night back at home, the brake flag came down and the light on indicating low brake pressure, even though they still worked. It now refuses to go up, so will have to be looked at before her next trip out.
MB90 paid another visit to her former home Leatherhead on 6th September for the running day. She ran 3 trips on the 462, and is seen here in Cobham Village. As can be seen in the photo, we have now fitted vinyls to the exterior, improving its appearance greatly.
MB90 seen at the Chertsy terminus of route 462 on her final trip of the day. She performed well again all day, and is now starting to look a bit better inside and out.
MB90 started the Amersham Running Day from High Wycombe Bus Station ,where she is seen alongside RML2412 - 4th October 2009.
MB90 seen at The Crown PH in Chalfont St Giles on Route 305 to Amersham, a route she used to work in her service life - 4th Cotber 2009.
During the Amersham Running Day on 4th October, there was a chance to get MB90 and MB641 together for a photo. They are seen here in the car park at the station.
The final event of the year for MB90 was the Cobham Bus Museum 'On the Fringes' Day on 25th October. After an overnight stay at the museum to enable work to be carried out on the front doors (we noticed at Amersham they were having difficulty opening, then they wouldn't open at all! - problem turning out to be a burned out relay), MB90 is seen awaiting her days service.
For the 3rd time this year, MB90 visited Leatherhead in service, this time terminating at the station on route 432 - 25th October.
Towards the end of a hard days work, MB90 is seen turning around in Redhill Road to head back up to Cobham Bus Museum. Once again, she performed well all day, the only problems being a blown headlight bulb and the wind catching the centre doors and opening them slightly whilst going along, causing her to jump out of gear!
